About Us

Western Australia's premier butchers is located in Mundaring in the beautiful Perth Hills. Our team of highly qualified tradesmen produce over 95% of the products we sell, underpinning our product range by sourcing locally grown Organic and Free Range beef, lamb, pork and chicken.

We are passionate about the ethical, humane treatment of the animals we source and therefore support local growers who share our philosophy. We support and endorse farming practices and principals that are applied in growing animals "as nature intended." We do not stock any animal that has been grown under intensive growing practices. All of the lamb and beef we stock is 100% grass fed, our poultry is free range and not fed a G.M.O.-based diet and the pork we use is female, free range, locally grown and have been raised on their natural diets.

We do not stock Grain- Fed beef or lamb, pork that has been cage grown or poultry that has been subjected to inhumane growing principals.

If we cannot purchase Organic product, we source Free Range. If Free Range is not an option, we will go without.

The Naked Butcher is owned and operated by career butcher Gary Hine and his wife Kirsten Janke. Gary began his career as an apprentice in Lowood, Queensland in the early 1980's and has accumulated a wealth of experience in all facets of retail butchery including managing butcher shops and supermarket meat departments throughout Australia.

In 2013, Gary reached the pinnacle of his professional career when selected as the Western Australian representative in the Australian Butchery Team to compete against New Zealand and The United Kingdom in the Tri Nations Butchery Challenge in New Zealand. Gary was also re-selected in 2014 and toured Europe as part of the team. Following an intensive tour of butcher shops, processors and growers in the U.K., Gary travelled to France, Luxemburg and Germany to interact and share ideas with other butchers. The experience has opened a new area of creativity that further enhances our diverse product range.  

In 2012, The Naked Butcher was awarded the Small Business of the Year at the Inaugural Mundaring Chamber of Commerce Business Awards Ceremony. The Naked Butcher then went on to win the major award for the year, The Mundaring Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Award. The Business Excellence Award recognized our professionalism, exceptional customer service, innovation and product development, environmental awareness, community standing and community involvement. The Naked Butcher also won the 2014 Mundaring Chamber of Commerce Retail Business of the Year. Our consistency and commitment to our profession enabled us to again win the Retail Business of the Year award in 2015.
