Always Great

This is my fourth? Order from The Naked Butcher and I am always satisfied. Fresh, prompt and friendly service. No pushy subscriptions, just buy what you want when you want. Thumbs up from me! The hogget is not as tender as the lamb, obviously but still fantastic flavour and you can do so much with just the offcuts. Actually, I preferred the leg roasts, lots of flavour and tender. Would recommend.

Side of Grass Fed Hogget

This was our first purchase from The Naked Butcher and were delighted with the whole episode, from the way our order was processed (including communication with us to ensure that we got exactly what we wanted), to the no-fuss pickup in Mundaring and, most importantly, to the "eating experience".
We cooked the shoulder using Jamie Oliver’s recipe for “Gnarly Lamb Madras Traybake” which uses a curry paste and is cooked over lentils which then essentially becomes a dhal. We have done this several times before using lamb shoulders but the hogget was much more flavoursome and the meat had a better texture, being both gelatinous and tender.
We then used the loin chops in the BBQ with a simple rub and again, the meat was tender and tasty. Next, we plan to try the hogget leg in a Greek roast lamb recipe. That will allow the flavour of the hogger to come through. We expect it will be delicious!
